Chicago Children’s Theatre remounts its popular musical The Hundred Dresses based on the beloved children’s book of the same name with music written by popular kid’s music star Ralph Covert. The show moves to The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie for a month-long run Nov. 2 – Dec. 3. School group tickets for groups of 20 or more are on sale now - $9 tickets for the Nov. 2 10:30 am preview show and $10 tickets for all other 10:30 school matinees through Dec. 3. Theatre Y presents “Juliet” by award-winning playwright András Visky; a story about testing a woman’s enduring love, “Juliet” documents Visky’s childhood through his mother’s eyes. After World War II, Visky’s father was sentenced to 22 years in prison by the Communist authorities for “acting against public order,” while his mother, himself and his 6 siblings were deported to a Romanian gulag a thousand kilometers from their home.

Roger Brown: Calif. USA, curated by School of the Art Institute of Chicago Professor Nicholas Lowe and on view at the Hyde Park Art Center through October 3, showcases the rare artwork and collections of the famed Chicago Imagist Roger Brown. The exhibition explores Brown’s process of collecting and arranging hundreds of domestic objects in his La Conchita, California home and studio. This exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm.
