Theatre Y presents the world premiere of “I Killed My Mother,” by award-winning Eastern European playwright András Visky, directed by Karin Coonrad at the Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Studio Feb. 19 – March 14. Set in Romania, the play tells the story of Bernadette.
Abandoned after birth by her mother, she grows up in Romanian orphanages where she meets and forges a relationship with Clip, her soul-mate. With Clip’s help she struggles to transcend the brutality of her surroundings and learns to “kill,” that is turn her back forever, on parasitic bonds in order to realize her own extraordinary identity. Performances are Thursday – Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.
